What is a clinical trial?
A cancer clinical trial is a research study that relies on volunteers to help determine the effectiveness of new treatments, procedures, or technology.

Before volunteers can joined they must meet eligibility criteria and are closely monitored to ensure safety. Volunteers are free to leave the trial at any time. All trials at UCSD have been well-designed and thoroughly reviewed by medical and research experts.
Cancer clinical trials are a vitally important step before new treatments can be used to help patients and to ultimately advance cancer care.
